KMC Trampoline Team Bounces High at Season Opener
In their first meet of the season, the KMC trampoline team took home eight first place ribbons. More than 130 competitors, from 15 teams and five states along the east coast participated in the Skyview Trampoline & Tumbling Invitational on November 2 in Mt. Airy, Maryland. The KMC team has many new members this season; for many, this was a new experience.

For level 8, Kyle Walchuk came in first on trampoline for 9-and-10 year old boys after a spectacular compulsory routine. Mateo Reihman competed in both trampoline and double mini trampoline where he won second and third places respectively for 11-and-12 year old boys.
Adam Overman, Jordan Walchuk and Chayse D’Andrade competed as newly anointed level 7 competitors. Overman completed a dazzling trampoline routine and won first place for 11-and-12 year old boys. Walchuk was flying high and won first for girls 8 and under. D’Andrade showed real power on double mini where she placed fourth for 11-and-12 year old girls. For 11-and-12 year old boys, Logan Walchuk won third place on double mini and trampoline.
KMC level 6 competitors were fierce in their respective age groups. Overman won first place on double mini by two points. Kate Elliott took home first place on both trampoline and double mini, with Danielle Birkett in second on trampoline and sixth on double mini, for 13-and-14 year old girls. D’Andrade completed a beautiful routine on trampoline and came in second with stiff competition. Jordan Walchuk took home first on double mini.
Two newcomers, JD Mickel and Anja Donsky competed at level 5 in the 11-and-12 year old group for boys and girls, respectively. Both placed fourth on trampoline. On double mini, Mickel took third and Donsky took sixth.
Hannah Watson and Amber Birkett competed for the first time at level 3 and 4. Both girls completed level 4 routines on double mini where Watson took second and Birkett took fourth. On trampoline both girls took second place; Birkett competed level 4 and Watson competed level 3.
The KMC tumblers continue to work hard. In level 5 competition, Jordan Walchuk placed first, Danielle Birkett place second, and Reihman placed third in their respective age groups.
KMC Gymnastics is located at 912 W Cypress St in Kennett Square PA. The gym is run and owned by Karen Myers. The trampolinists train with Paul Wileyto, Sarah Arrigo, Joseph Kozlowski, Brianna Kozlowski, Ilan DiFillipo, and Justine Franchina. The team will compete again on January 18th in the FlipOver Invitational.
